Dale Smith is a highly experienced geothermal professional with over 17 years of experience in the industry. He has served in a variety of roles, from Plant Operator to Plant Manager, and has a deep understanding of all aspects of geothermal power generation. Dale began his career as an operator at the Soda Lake geothermal plant, where he was responsible for operating air and water cooled ORMAT units. He then served as the O&M and EHS Manager at Soda Lake and Patua, where he was responsible for safety, regulatory compliance, plant optimization, and maintenance. During the decommissioning of SL1 and SL2, Dale organized the team obtaining the CAPP Permit to Construct and the Permit to Operate that led to the commissioning of Soda Lake 3 in 2019. In 2021, Dale was promoted to Plant Manager of Patua Geothermal and Solar, where he was responsible for the operation of 48 MW of TAS units and 10 MW of solar PV. Dale is a highly skilled and experienced with a proven track record of success. He is a valuable asset to OME’s operations team and is well-positioned to lead the company to continued growth and success.
