Accounting and Procurement Specialist

Job description

The Accounting and Procurement Specialist will assist the drilling team with accounts payable and procurement processing for goods and services.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assists with records, receipts, and invoices in the reconciliation of the drilling accounts
  • Review invoices for accuracy
  • Data entry of into accounting system
  • Maintain records as required
  • Provide customer service to incoming inquires
  • Perform additional tasks and projects as needed from drilling and procurement managers
  • Research vendors and collects prices, specifications, and other data related to goods and services
  • Other related duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong data entry skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software as well as other accounting software programs
  • Ability to operate related office equipment, such as computers, 10-key calculator, and copier
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with customers
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in “Accounting”

Preferred Knowledge Areas and Experience:

  • One (1) year of account payables experience
  • One (1) year experience in negotiation for procurement of materials

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to communicate with others to exchange information
  • Remains in a sedentary position for long periods working on a computer
  • Work in an Office environment
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally
  • Use repeating motions that may include the wrist, hands, and/or fingers
  • Must travel to various locations on occasionally
  • Must operate a company vehicle occasionally
